THINKING CHRISTIAN: ESSAYS ON TESTIMONY, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND THE CHRISTIAN MIND

Thinking Christian: Essays on Testimony, Accountability, and the Christian Mind is my first solo project. After leaving my position as an academic dean in 2018 to take on a role with Moody Center, one of my goals was to do more writing. I started blogging on leadership topics. While I wrote a few posts and got some traction, I found that writing about leadership wasn’t going to hold my attention. I had to go back to the drawing board.

I realized that what I really care about is prodding the church to learn to please God together. I am, at heart, a theologian and, so, the idea for Thinking Christian was born. I began writing blog posts about theology and addressing contemporary events and various other topics from a theological perspective. I was also able to teach Developing a Christian Mind with Right on Mission. I began to focus my energies on what it means to have and develop a Christian mind.

The essays in Thinking Christian represent my theological reflections on topics I feel don’t often receive enough attention (or, at least, the right sort of attention). As an exercise in exploring the church’s testimony, Thinking Christian has been both enriching and challenging to write. My prayer is that Thinking Christian will cause those who read it to rethink the way they see the world and to ask more theological questions as they seek to reflect Christ to a world who needs to know Him.
